Fun fact, the average adult head weighs around 5 kilograms, which feels light until you look at how it is positioned throughout the day.
When your ears sit directly over your shoulders, your neck supports that weight efficiently. But when your head moves forward even by a few centimetres, the load on your neck can double or more. What should feel like 5 kilograms can quickly feel like 10 to 15 kilograms to your muscles and joints.
This extra load is one of the main reasons long hours on phones and laptops lead to neck pain, headaches, and upper back stiffness. It is not about one bad posture moment, but how long your body is exposed to that strain without movement.
Small posture awareness and regular movement breaks can make a big difference.
